Mindfulness Therapy
THE ANTIDOTE TREATMENT TO
ADDRESS THE STRESSES OF MODERN LIFE.
It is the art of paying attention to present moment experiences with openness and curiosity. Mindfulness is a skill that helps us hone our ‘attentional’ processes. This skill can be applied to any moment in life. The practice of mindfulness teaches us to pay greater attention to our internal and external experiences leading to a more balanced and harmonious existence. Mindfulness can be employed throughout the day to deal with stressful situations and to reduce emotional reactivity. Mindfulness tools and practices can help us with work, study, family, relationships, health and in any areas of stress and difficulty. Anyone of any background can be taught mindfulness to find more ease and well-being, no matter what life's circumstances. This Mindfulness course will engage you in experiential, fun activities that include simple body movement, breathing exercises, guided visualisations and will introduce the skill of meditation. Mindfulness practices are gradually increased as the course progresses. Participants gain a deeper awareness of the body/mind connection, sensory perception and their interconnection with all beings. Participation, questions and discussion are all highly encouraged. Respect of self and others, kindness and compassion form the foundation of the class experience. Participants gain tools that help them navigate the many changes occurring in their lives, if implemented on a consistent basis. The practice of mindful awareness can guide you to improve relationships, create relaxation and calmness, soothe the self, increase memory, enhance focus, reduce stress, manage reactions and emotions, increase self-acceptance and feel more at ease in our often 24/7 stressful lives.
